Fund Raising Committee : The Fundraising Committee shall be charged with the following duties and responsibilities;To carry out membership recruitment drive so as to increase members’ contributions.To identify and approach potential sponsors be it individuals, local and / or international organizations and agencies as well as government bodies.To organize and participate in fundraising events such as cock-tails, dinners and luncheons.To participate in the decision-making authority on matters of student sponsorships and fees allocation.Participate in any other events that will promote the positive image of the Association.
Education Committee :This committee shall play the following roles in the Association;
Carry out mentorship, couching, guidance and counseling of current students and other members of the Association.Organize tours to schools to visit students and follow up on their progress as well as finding out about their welfare.Organize common events such as career days, symposia, get-togethers and luncheons for students at their various levels of study.Participate in any other events that will promote the positive image of the Association.
Publicity Committee :The Publicity Committee is responsible for promoting membership in the Association through making the public aware of the Association and what it does.
Ethics and governance Committee :The following functions shall be the common recurring activities of the Committee in carrying out its responsibilities. These functions should serve as a guide, with the understanding that the Committee may carry out additional functions and adopt additional policies and procedures as may be appropriate in light of changing business, legislative, regulatory, legal or other conditions. The Committee shall also carry out any other responsibilities and duties delegated to it by the Board related to the purposes of the Committee.
The Role of the Governance Committee
Make nominations in accordance with the by-laws for members of the Board of Trustees, officers and executive committee members.
Conduct an ongoing examination of how the Board is functioning, how board members communicate, and whether the board is fulfilling its responsibilities and living up to the organization’s objectives.
Identify and update board member job descriptions and work to recruit a board that has the skills and expertise needed to meet the organization’s objectives.
Identify potential board members and maintain information about candidates.
Ensure that new board members receive appropriate orientation and have adequate materials and understanding of their roles and responsibilities.
Evaluate board members and determine their eligibility for reelection
Involve all board members in continuing education throughout their terms.
Ensure that appropriate communications are taking place in order to keep board members fully apprised of activities.
Evaluate the bylaws and propose revisions as needed. |
